The Young Mums Unit is a property in Wodonga that is a safe place for 15-25 year old pregnant and young mothers who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
We need your help to refurbish the Young Mums Unit so it can be re-opened and house some of the most vulnerable young women in our community.
We work with the young parents on life skills and parenting skills and supporting them to take steps towards independent living and creating better lives for their children.
Past residents have included young women who have not had a safe place to live to look after their baby because of family violence in their own family or with their intimate partner, have been “couch surfing” with friends and family because they don’t have their own accommodation or are in need of intensive support.
The Young Mums Unit needs financial support so we can purchase new household goods and furniture and the sort of things that make a house a home.
